Tinubu to Visit Plateau Over Killings, Reschedules Ogun Airport Commissioning |LAGOS EYE NEWS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Iperu in Ogun State, opting instead to travel to Jos, Plateau State, in response to recent violent attacks that resulted in multiple fatalities.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday, by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The President was initially scheduled to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Ogun State. However, the change in itinerary will allow him to commiserate with the government and people of Plateau State following the killings of innocent citizens in the area.

After his visit to Plateau, Tinubu is expected to proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday.

According to the revised schedule, the President will travel to Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, where he will commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft intended to enhance import and export activities and stimulate economic growth in the state.

During the Ogun visit, Tinubu will also inaugurate the new Federal Operations Unit edifice of the Nigerian Customs Service along with its operational vehicles.

He will subsequently return to Lagos to continue the Easter celebrations, during which he is expected to commission several key infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The projects include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a newly constructed school complex.

As part of his extended tour, the President is also scheduled to visit Bayelsa State on April 10, where he will commission projects completed under the administration of Governor Duoye Diri before returning to Abuja.
