Clean Water at Last: Ilupeju Residents Celebrate Akinsanya’s Project |LAGOS EYE NEWS




Residents of Ilupeju in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Saturday expressed gratitude following the commissioning of a water borehole project by the lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency I, Hon. Prince Nureni Akinsanya.

The borehole, located at Moshalasi lane( Woro igbira) off ilupeju road was constructed, and officially inaugurated by the lawmaker as part of efforts to address persistent water scarcity in the community.

The commissioning ceremony drew a large turnout of residents, including men, women, and children, who celebrated what they described as a long-awaited solution to a major challenge affecting daily life in the area. Many noted that the project would significantly ease access to clean and safe water.

Speaking at the event, Akinsanya expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the project, describing access to clean water as essential to healthy living. He stated that the borehole represents one of his fulfilled campaign promises to constituents.

“All thanks to Almighty Allah for granting us the opportunity to make this possible. This is a clear demonstration that our commitment to the people is not just rhetoric but action,” he said.

The lawmaker emphasised his dedication to effective representation, adding that his priority remains delivering tangible democratic dividends to the people of Mushin Constituency I.

He also urged community leaders and residents to take ownership of the facility by ensuring its proper maintenance. According to him, the borehole should be regarded as a valuable community asset that must be protected from misuse or damage.

Akinsanya further assured constituents of more developmental projects across various sectors if re-elected in future polls, pledging inclusive distribution of initiatives across all communities within the constituency.

Residents, in their response, commended the lawmaker for addressing a long-standing issue of water scarcity, noting that the project would particularly relieve women and children who previously had to travel long distances to fetch potable water.

They described the intervention as timely and impactful, adding that it would improve living conditions and public health within the community. Some residents also expressed willingness to support the lawmaker in future elections in appreciation of his efforts.
