BREAKING: Fire Guts Polaris Bank Building on Lagos Island; Casualty Reports Unconfirmed |LAGOS EYE NEWS




A fire outbreak at a commercial building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street, Lagos Island, on Thursday sparked concern among residents and business operators in the area.

The incident prompted an immediate emergency response as firefighters and rescue agencies moved swiftly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.

LAGOS EYE NEWS gathered that the fire was successfully extinguished without any loss of life or injuries.

Confirming the development, the Controller of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), Margaret Adeseye, said the agency received a distress call at approximately 11:33 a.m.

According to Adeseye, the fire involved a stationary saloon car parked on the third floor of the 17-storey building, which is used as a parking facility.

She explained that firefighters from the Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations responded promptly to the emergency and quickly brought the situation under control.

“The swift intervention of our personnel prevented the fire from spreading to other vehicles and sections of the building,” she said.

The LSFRS disclosed that the only damage recorded was to the affected vehicle and its immediate surroundings, while no casualties or injuries were reported.

Following the successful firefighting operation, normal activities have resumed in the area.
