Ambassador Florence Ajimobi, has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on the sixth anniversary of his passing.

In a memorial message released on Thursday, former Oyo State first lady, Mrs. Ajimobi described her late husband as her best friend, confidant, greatest supporter, and a source of strength and comfort to many people.

She said that although six years have passed since his death, his memory, legacy, and the values he stood for continue to inspire family members, friends, and associates.

According to her, the former governor’s kindness touched countless lives, while his wisdom, integrity, compassion, and commitment to service left an enduring impact on society.

Mrs. Ajimobi noted that while she deeply misses his laughter, counsel, and reassuring presence, she remains grateful to God for the years they shared together and for what she described as a meaningful and purposeful life.

She added that his legacy continues to live on through the lives he influenced and the principles he upheld during his lifetime.

“Though your physical presence is no longer with us, your spirit lives on in the values you instilled, the lives you impacted, and the beautiful memories we continue to cherish,” she stated.

Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who served as Governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, died on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70. He passed away in Lagos after suffering complications arising from COVID-19 infection. Lagos health authorities said he died from multiple organ failure triggered by COVID-19 complications after a prolonged hospitalization.

Concluding her tribute, the former First Lady said her husband remains deeply loved, fondly remembered, and forever missed, adding that his memory will continue to be a blessing to those he left behind.

She referenced Proverbs 10:7, which states: “The memory of the righteous is a blessing.”
