Nigeria’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has formally presented his Letter of Credence to the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, during a ceremony held with full diplomatic honours.
The credential presentation featured the inspection of a Guard of Honour, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
During a private audience after the ceremony, Amir reaffirmed the longstanding cordial relationship between Nigeria and Qatar. He recalled previous high-level engagements between the two countries and reiterated Qatar’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
Ambassador Yakubu expressed condolences to the Amir over the recent accident at Ras Laffan Industrial City and conveyed Nigeria’s solidarity with the people and government of Qatar.
He also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Qatar in areas including trade, investment, education, security, and humanitarian affairs.
