The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects during the latest phase of Operation Kosaye, an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police aimed at tackling violent crime through intelligence-led operations.
Following the success of the operation along the Ore-Ogere corridor, the Command extended the exercise to other identified crime hotspots across Lagos State.
The latest raid was carried out at a dumpsite in the Igando area, which police identified as a hideout for criminal elements.
Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, said the operation resulted in the arrest of 150 suspects.
He added that officers recovered more than 100 motorcycles, many of them without registration number plates, 54 mobile phones, military camouflage uniforms, illicit drugs, a locally made double-barrel shotgun, and other incriminating exhibits.
The Police Commissioner assured residents that Operation Kosaye would continue across strategic locations in the state as part of efforts to improve security.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The Lagos State Police Command said investigations are ongoing to profile the arrested suspects and ensure the prosecution of those found culpable.
The Command maintained that sustained intelligence gathering and public cooperation remain critical to the success of Operation Kosaye and the fight against crime across Lagos State.
