Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed gratitude over the safe rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers who were abducted in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, describing their return as a source of relief for their families and all those who prayed for their freedom.
In a statement, Sanwo-Olu said the successful rescue brought comfort to the affected families and renewed hope amid the nation’s security challenges.
The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to strengthening security across the country and praised the efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies whose coordinated operations led to the victims’ rescue.
Sanwo-Olu also extended his sympathies to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the people of Oyo State, particularly the Ogbomoso community, and the families of the abducted victims for enduring weeks of anxiety and uncertainty.
He noted that the successful operation reinforces confidence that Nigeria can overcome its security challenges through sustained collaboration among government, security agencies, and citizens.
