The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has announced that all political campaign advertising activities in the state must obtain a mandatory Campaign Permit ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The directive was contained in a notice signed by the Director-General of OYSAA, Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, and addressed to the Chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Practitioners Association of Oyo State.
According to the agency, the measure is aimed at regulating political advertising and ensuring compliance with the state’s signage and advertisement laws.
OYSAA said no advertising practitioner would be permitted to deploy, erect, facilitate, display or undertake campaign-related advertisements for any political party, candidate, campaign organisation or support group without first securing the required Campaign Permit.
The agency stated that the permit requirement covers political rallies and roadshows, posters, handbills, campaign flyers, banners, flex materials, campaign signage, branded vehicles, mobile advertisements, public address systems, campaign booths, activation stands, campaign-branded T-shirts, caps, souvenirs, billboards and other outdoor advertising structures.
According to OYSAA, the policy is intended to promote orderliness in political campaigns, improve public safety by preventing hazardous advertising structures, protect public infrastructure from misuse and defacement, reduce visual pollution, preserve the aesthetic appearance of communities, ensure fair access to approved advertising spaces and strengthen monitoring and enforcement of campaign advertising regulations.
The agency also directed all advertising practitioners intending to participate in political campaign activities to register on its digital platform, stressing that only practitioners with valid and active registration would be eligible to undertake campaign advertising engagements across the state.

The agency also released the proposed Campaign Permit fees for candidates seeking elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections.
Under the schedule, presidential candidates will pay ₦5 million, while governorship candidates are expected to pay ₦2.5 million. Senatorial candidates will pay ₦1.5 million, while candidates for the House of Representatives will pay ₦500,000.
Candidates contesting for seats in the State House of Assembly will pay ₦250,000, while Local Government chairmanship candidates will pay ₦100,000. Councillorship candidates will be required to pay ₦50,000.
OYSAA urged advertising practitioners and political stakeholders to comply fully with the directive, expressing confidence that the policy would help ensure a peaceful, orderly and well-regulated political advertising environment across Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
