The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) says its newly launched 3367 toll-free call centre handled 2,843 public engagements within its first 30 days of operation, as the agency seeks to strengthen transparency, accountability and public service.
According to LASTMA, the figures cover the period between 28 June and 29 July 2026 and reflect increasing public use of the platform for reporting traffic incidents, making enquiries and providing feedback.
The agency said the engagements comprised 1,047 enquiry calls, 709 commendations, 468 resolved cases, 400 reports of road accidents and vehicle breakdowns, 163 formal complaints, 11 information requests and 45 unsuccessful calls, mainly due to network interruptions or abandoned calls.
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the response as evidence of growing public confidence in the agency’s services. He said the toll-free line was designed to improve communication with residents and enhance service delivery.
He also announced the establishment of a Physical Complaint Centre (PCC) at the agency’s headquarters in Oshodi, where members of the public can submit complaints, make enquiries and report traffic-related issues, including allegations of misconduct involving LASTMA officials.
Bakare-Oki said every complaint received through either the call centre or the physical office would be investigated in line with established administrative procedures and the principles of natural justice.
He reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption, extortion, abuse of office and other forms of misconduct, adding that any officer found guilty after due process would face disciplinary action.
The LASTMA boss urged motorists, commuters, transport operators and other stakeholders to make responsible use of the agency’s feedback channels, saying public participation is essential to improving traffic management, road safety and transportation across Lagos State.
