The Police have arrested a 13-year-old boy, Twikirize Clever, also known as “Mad Hunter,” over allegations of incitement to violence and promoting sectarianism through content posted on TikTok.
According to the Greater Masaka Regional Police spokesperson in Uganda’s Lyantonde District Kasirye Twaha, the teenager, a casual worker and resident of Kooki D Cell, Lyantonde District, was arrested following intelligence-led investigations.
Police said preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly shared videos containing vulgar and offensive language, which authorities described as inappropriate, particularly considering his age.
The statement added that officers tracked and arrested the teenager at his hideout in Kooki C Cell, Lyantonde District.
He remains in police custody while investigations into the allegations continue.
Authorities have not disclosed when the suspect is expected to appear before a court.
