Troops rescue 10 civilians in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara operations|LAGOS EYE NEWS

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 10 civilians in separate operations across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Danja said five civilians were rescued in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State after troops on patrol encountered an ambush by terrorists.

According to him, the troops responded swiftly and forced the attackers to flee, recovering two motorcycles abandoned by the terrorists.

In Kebbi State, troops acting on credible intelligence rescued three kidnapped victims in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area.

The rescued victims were subsequently profiled and handed over to the appropriate local authorities.

Similarly, troops operating in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State responded to reports of terrorist activities and forced the attackers to flee, leading to the rescue of two captives.

The two victims, who sustained gunshot wounds during their captivity, were evacuated to a medical facility for urgent treatment.

The military said efforts were ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing terrorists.

The Theatre Command commended the troops for their vigilance and swift response, assuring residents of its determination to sustain pressure on terrorist elements across the Joint Operations Area.

It also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations and enhance the protection of lives and property.
