Gospel singer Lilian Nneji has raised concerns over what she described as false information allegedly being circulated about her to event organisers.
Nneji said she encountered four people within one week who told her they had considered inviting her to their programmes but were discouraged after being informed that she had travelled, was on vacation or was unavailable.
The singer questioned why such information would be given without first confirming her availability directly with her.
“You are telling them that I travelled and went on vacation when you have no information. Why would you do it?” she asked.
Nneji also dismissed claims that she is not based in Lagos, stressing that she was born and raised in the city and remains available for invitations to minister at programmes.
She further alleged that some individuals had described her as an “Igbo artist”, while others reportedly told event organisers that she was frequently travelling or on tour.
“Did I tell you I am on tour? Did I announce that I am on tour? If I have to go on tour, I will post it,” she said.
The gospel singer acknowledged that people may hold different opinions about her personality, including perceptions that she is proud or unfriendly.
However, she argued that personal disagreements or opinions should not be used to prevent organisers from inviting her to their programmes.
“You don’t have to spoil my image. Just because you don’t want them to invite me, you tell them I am not based in Lagos, that I have travelled or that I am on vacation. Please, fear God,” she said.
Nneji described the alleged effort to prevent her from receiving ministry invitations through misinformation as wrong and spiritually troubling.
