Workers of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, have commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure, CONTEDISS, for the institution.
The workers described the approval as a major development in staff welfare, saying it has brought renewed excitement and improved morale among employees of the College.
According to the workers, the approval is significant because the demand for the implementation of CONTEDISS had remained unresolved for several years despite repeated efforts by the workers, organised labour and previous administrations.
They said the development has demonstrated the commitment of the Adeleke administration to addressing longstanding welfare concerns affecting staff of the institution.
The workers explained that the implementation of CONTEDISS would bring employees of the College closer to the salary structure enjoyed by their counterparts in other tertiary institutions across Osun State.
They also highlighted the specialised role of the College in the training of health professionals, stressing that better staff welfare would contribute to improved productivity, commitment and service delivery.
The workers described the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, as an important health-training institution whose continued development remains relevant to the state’s healthcare system.
Some of the workers, who spoke through the College’s Public Relations Officer, also praised the Adeleke administration for interventions in infrastructure and other areas of staff welfare.
They said the various interventions had contributed to better working conditions and improved staff morale, adding that the approval of CONTEDISS had provided an additional boost to their commitment to their responsibilities.
The workers expressed appreciation to Governor Adeleke for responding to what they described as a longstanding demand, saying the approval had provided fresh encouragement for staff across the institution.
They further pledged to reciprocate the gesture through renewed dedication to their duties and continued efforts towards the development of the College.
