An American elementary school teacher has reportedly broken down in tears over the challenges of teaching, expressing frustration after only one out of 34 students in her class reportedly passed an assessment.
The teacher’s emotional reaction was shared in a X-handle post by Wall Street Apes on Monday, highlighting concerns about students’ academic performance and the challenges facing educators in the United States.
In the account shared online, the teacher described how some pupils struggled to copy words correctly from the classroom board, despite being instructed to reproduce what was written.
“I literally put the word on the board. I write it on the board and I say copy it, and they’re copying it wrong,” she reportedly said, expressing disbelief at the situation.
The teacher added that the experience had left her questioning herself and struggling with exhaustion.
“I’m exhausted like, there’s some days that I like doing it, but man, to do that every single day, it’s exhausting. Breaks my heart,” she said.
She also expressed concern about what she perceived as a lack of parental involvement in their children’s education, arguing that pupils’ classroom performance could reflect inadequate support at home.
The incident has reignited online discussions about the responsibilities of parents, the effectiveness of the education system and the challenges teachers face in helping pupils meet academic expectations.
Some commentators have called for greater parental involvement, stronger discipline and increased accountability in schools, arguing that children need consistent guidance both at home and in the classroom.
