The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will unveil the manifesto of its 2027 governorship candidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Director-General of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, announced the development on Sunday during a press conference at the campaign office in Ikeja, Lagos.

Obanikoro said the presentation would take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu, Lagos, between 3pm and 5pm. He added that arrivals would begin at 11am.

According to him, the manifesto will outline Hamzat’s vision, policy priorities and plans for the continued development of Lagos State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

He said the campaign was built around shared progress and inclusivity, with an emphasis on consolidating existing achievements, addressing outstanding challenges and creating more opportunities for residents.

“Continuity is not about doing things the same way simply because they have been done before. It is about protecting what works, correcting what needs improvement and building on existing progress,” Obanikoro said.

He identified transportation, housing, infrastructure, security, healthcare, human capital development and environmental management as some of the major challenges confronting Lagos, citing the state’s growing population and cosmopolitan character.

He maintained that addressing these issues would require experienced leadership, effective planning and practical solutions that respond to residents’ needs.

Obanikoro said Hamzat’s experience in the private sector and public service would shape his approach to governance if elected governor.

He noted that the governorship candidate holds a PhD in Systems Process Engineering from Cranfield University in England and had worked with international financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Citibank, before entering public service.

He also highlighted Hamzat’s record as a three-time commissioner and deputy governor of Lagos State, arguing that his experience in government would help him consolidate existing achievements and improve public service delivery.

The campaign director-general pointed to developments in rail transportation, road infrastructure, education, healthcare, housing and the creative economy under successive Lagos administrations, including the incumbent government of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He further disclosed that the campaign council had consulted religious leaders, traditional rulers, market women, traders, young people, professionals, artisans, community leaders and other stakeholders across the state.

According to him, the consultations were designed to ensure that the concerns and aspirations of residents inform the campaign’s development agenda.

Obanikoro added that the manifesto would be made available for download after its public presentation, enabling residents to examine the proposals and submit feedback through designated party channels.

He urged Lagos residents and other stakeholders to participate in the process, reiterating that the campaign’s priorities include inclusive governance, shared progress and sustained development.

Hamzat is expected to present his policy direction as the APC prepares for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
