The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general election available online following concerns raised by Nigerians and other stakeholders over access to the document.
The commission said the online publication complements the physical display of the register conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Commissioner and Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, said the decision was aimed at promoting transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process.
According to the statement, the register can be accessed through the commission’s online platform at https://display.inecnigeria.org.
INEC explained that the physical display was conducted in accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026, to enable registered voters to inspect their personal details and submit claims and objections as provided by law.
The commission said the additional online access would provide more Nigerians with the opportunity to review the preliminary register, while efforts to process claims and objections arising from the exercise continue.
It added that the exercise was part of preparations for the certification and publication of the final register of voters, scheduled for December 15, 2026.
INEC appreciated Nigerians and other stakeholders for their continued interest and constructive engagement, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and the implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026, towards delivering credible elections.
