Lagos Assembly Warns Public Against Fraudsters Soliciting Money for Jobs, Contracts|LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Lagos State House of Assembly has warned members of the public against fraudsters demanding money in exchange for jobs, appointments, contracts and other official opportunities.

The warning was contained in a statement by the Clerk of the House,Mrs. Adenike Abolanle Oshinowo and directed at job seekers, contractors, prospective vendors and members of the general public.

The Clerk stated that Assembly does not request or receive money, fees or gratification in exchange for employment, appointments, contract awards, procurement opportunities or any other official benefit.

According to the statement, all recruitment, procurement, tendering and related activities are conducted through established statutory procedures and communicated through the Assembly’s official channels.

The Assembly urged members of the public to be cautious of individuals claiming to represent the legislature while demanding payments for jobs or business opportunities.

It warned that anyone who makes payments to such individuals does so at their own risk, adding that the Assembly would not be responsible for any resulting loss or damage.

The Assembly further stated that anyone found soliciting or collecting money in connection with jobs, contracts or other opportunities purportedly involving the House would be reported to relevant law enforcement authorities for investigation and possible prosecution.

The House therefore advised members of the public to rely only on official communication channels when seeking information about recruitment, procurement and other opportunities involving the Lagos State House of Assembly.
