The Ondo State Government has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of St Louis Primary School in Ondo town, citing repeated violations of regulations governing private educational institutions.
The directive was issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, who said the decision followed the school’s persistent failure to comply with state guidelines.
Professor Ajibefun said the action formed part of the government’s wider effort to ensure that private schools operate within the legal and regulatory framework set by the state authorities.
He warned that the school would remain closed until it fully meets all statutory requirements and formally recognises the oversight role of the government in the administration of education.
The Ministry of Education has advised parents and guardians of pupils at the school to comply with the closure order with immediate effect and make alternative arrangements for their children.
The Ondo State Government said it remains committed to maintaining and enforcing acceptable standards across all educational institutions in the state.
