NITDA pledges support for CAC’s AI transformation at 35th anniversary|LAGOS EYE NEWS

Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has pledged to support the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its operations, as the Commission marked its 35th anniversary in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, praised the CAC for its resilience and steady growth since its establishment.

He said the Commission had continued to perform strongly at a time when many organisations experience decline after initial success.

Mr Abdullahi described the CAC’s development as a trajectory that continues to “thrive, thrive, and thrive,” commending its leadership for prioritising institutional reform.

He said he had observed the Commission’s commitment to transformation from the early days of the current Registrar General’s tenure, noting that modernisation had remained central to its agenda.

The NITDA chief emphasised that artificial intelligence was essential for meaningful progress in the digital age, and praised the CAC’s efforts to embed AI into its systems and processes.

He assured the Commission of NITDA’s full support, saying the agency would work closely with CAC to deploy AI solutions aimed at improving efficiency and security.

According to him, integrating AI into CAC’s operations would simplify company registration and business management, while strengthening cybersecurity measures to guard against hacking and fraud.

Mr Abdullahi added that equipping CAC staff with advanced AI tools would help the organisation stay ahead of emerging threats, while NITDA would ensure the adoption of ethical and responsible AI systems.
