BRT Bus Catches Fire in Lagos, Passengers Escape Unhurt |LAGOS EYE NEWS

There was panic on Tuesday after a fully loaded Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle caught fire while in motion on Mile 12 Bridge along Ikorodu Road in Lagos, forcing passengers to flee to safety.

Eyewitnesses said the incident happened when the high-capacity bus suddenly burst into flames during its journey along the busy corridor.

Passengers were seen scrambling out of the vehicle as smoke billowed into the air. Authorities confirmed that all occupants evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said its personnel responded promptly after receiving distress calls. Firefighters, supported by other emergency responders, succeeded in containing and extinguishing the blaze.

The burnt vehicle was later removed from the bridge to ease traffic congestion in the area.
