Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo once topped an unusual ranking released by adult entertainment platform Pornhub, which listed the footballers most frequently searched for on the site.
According to data published by the platform’s insights section and reported by several sports outlets, Ronaldo ranked first on the list, with his long-time rival Lionel Messi coming in second.
The biggest surprise in the ranking was Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, who placed third ahead of several globally recognised football stars.
Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez finished fourth, while French star Kylian Mbappé completed the top five.
Other footballers mentioned in the extended top-ten list included Paulo Dybala, Eden Hazard, Raheem Sterling, Karim Benzema and former England captain David Beckham.
Reports noted that the rankings were based on search queries made by visitors to the website and do not imply that the players themselves appear on the platform.
