Former CAC President, Pastor Abraham Akinosun, Dies at 81 |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The former President of the Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun, has passed away at the age of 81.

According to an official statement released by the church authority, Pastor Akinosun “slept in the Lord” on Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2026.

The announcement, issued by the current President of the church, described his passing as a submission to the will of God. “In total submission to the will of the Almighty God, CAC Authority announces the passing unto glory of her retired and former President, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun,” the statement read.

Pastor Akinosun served as the 7th President of the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas from 2012 to 2020. During his tenure, he succeeded Pastor E.H.L. Olusheye and was later succeeded by the incumbent President, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele.

He was widely regarded as a devoted servant of God, an experienced administrator, and a visionary leader. His leadership era was noted for spiritual revival, doctrinal steadfastness, and organizational growth within the church.

Pastor Akinosun retired in 2020 after attaining the statutory retirement age of 75, having served the church with dedication, humility, and a strong commitment to the propagation of the Gospel.
