The Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) has announced the death of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, who passed away earlier on Wednesday, marking the end of a reign widely noted for fostering peace, unity, and cultural preservation in Esa-Oke and across Ijesaland.
According to ICDA, Oba Adediran’s leadership reflected wisdom, dignity, and a strong commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Esa-Oke. He played a key role in maintaining stability within the community and was often described as a calm and reassuring presence during challenging times.
Beyond his traditional responsibilities, the monarch supported initiatives aimed at advancing education, social harmony, and community development. His contributions were seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen unity and growth across Ijesaland.
The ICDA noted that his passing represents a significant loss not only to the people of Esa-Oke but to the entire Ijesa community, where his influence and counsel were widely valued.
Tributes have begun to pour in from community leaders, traditional institutions, and indigenes, remembering him as a father figure and a symbol of pride.
The Assembly extended condolences to the royal family, the people of Esa-Oke, the Obokun Local Government Traditional Rulers Council, and the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, as well as all sons and daughters of the region.
They also offered prayers for strength for the bereaved and for the peaceful repose of the late monarch.
Oba Adeyemi Adediran’s legacy, the Assembly added, will endure through the values he upheld and the unity he fostered within his community.
