Former First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi, on Saturday joined hundreds of women from across the state at the Oyo State Prayer and Fasting Rally organised by the Women Intercessory Network.
The event, which attracted participants from different parts of Oyo State, focused on seeking divine intervention amid growing concerns over insecurity, kidnapping, and other challenges confronting communities across the state and the nation.
Speaking at the gathering, Ajimobi described the turnout as encouraging, noting that the rally demonstrated the commitment of women to intercede for the peace and progress of Oyo State.
The participants offered prayers for peace, protection, healing, restoration, and divine intervention in troubled communities. Special prayers were also said for families, individuals in captivity, political leaders, and the overall safety and prosperity of residents.
Ajimobi commended the organisers for providing a platform for collective intercession and applauded the women who responded to the call to stand in the gap for the state and the country.
She emphasized the importance of unity in prayer, saying that when people of faith come together with a common purpose, hope is renewed and communities are strengthened.
The former First Lady expressed optimism that Oyo State and Nigeria would continue to experience peace, wisdom, and sustainable development through God’s guidance and intervention.
