The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now print their original result slips within two hours of issuance.
The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
According to the board, the original result slip contains essential details such as candidates’ photographs, national rankings, and other security features required for admission screening and post-UTME exercises by tertiary institutions.
“The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing within the next two hours today, Wednesday, June 17, 2026,” the statement said.
Benjamin explained that the document is an official requirement for admission processing by higher institutions across the country.
“The Original Result Slip contains the candidate’s photograph, national ranking, and other security features. It is part of the official document required for post-UTME processing and consideration by tertiary institutions,” he stated.
He added that candidates can print the result slips from any internet-enabled device, including personal computers, office systems, and accredited business centres.
JAMB advised candidates to carefully verify their information after printing and retain copies of the document for future admission-related purposes.
The 2026 UTME was conducted in April, while a mop-up examination was held on June 13 for candidates who experienced technical difficulties or biometric verification challenges during the main examination.
Results of the mop-up examination were released on June 16.
The board noted that the printing of original result slips was delayed to allow for the completion of foreign-based examinations and the mop-up exercise. Earlier, on May 19, JAMB appealed to candidates and stakeholders in the education sector to remain patient while it concluded the necessary processes.
The availability of the original result slips is expected to facilitate the admission process for candidates seeking placement into tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Meanwhile, several higher institutions across the country have either commenced or are preparing to commence their post-UTME registration exercises.
