The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has urged basic school teachers across the state to strictly comply with the reviewed academic timetable following the suspension of the industrial action by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).
In a statement issued on Monday, Dr. Adeniran commended teachers for their dedication and encouraged them to continue discharging their responsibilities with commitment, professionalism, and passion to ensure uninterrupted learning across public basic schools in the state.
He described the current period as critical in the academic calendar, stressing the need for all stakeholders to work together to ensure that pupils receive quality education without further disruption.
“I have no doubt that our teachers will continue to make the interest of our pupils their utmost priority,” he said.
The OYOSUBEB chairman also wished teachers, pupils, school administrators, and other education stakeholders a productive, peaceful, and successful remainder of the academic session, expressing confidence that their collective efforts would continue to promote excellence in teaching and learning across Oyo State.
Dr. Adeniran further expressed concern over the recent abduction of some individuals during an unfortunate incident in Oriire Local Government Area, praying for their safe and speedy return to their families and communities.
He also prayed for God’s continued protection over pupils, teachers, and everyone working within the state’s education sector.
