The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) LP Province 122, Pace Setter Province, Region 36, has held the maiden edition of its Triumphant Night programme, themed “Shout Victory,” dedicating the event to thanksgiving over the safe release of the abducted Oyo State schoolchildren and their teachers.
The praise and worship programme, organised by the provincial choir on Friday, drew worshippers from different parishes and zones who gathered to celebrate what church leaders described as God’s intervention in the rescue of the victims.
Speaking at the event, the Provincial Pastor, Pastor Philip Adebambo, thanked God for His faithfulness to the province and the nation, describing the release of the pupils and teachers from captivity as a miracle deserving of thanksgiving.
He said the abduction had generated widespread concern within the church, but members remained steadfast in prayer until the victims regained their freedom.
“We thank God for what He is doing in our province and in Nigeria as a whole. We are especially grateful for the children and their teachers who have just been released from the hands of bandits and kidnappers. It was a matter of great concern, and we give God all the glory because He intervened and they returned unharmed,” Adebambo said.
The cleric also commended the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, for his prophetic declarations, saying members were confident the abducted victims would be released after the General Overseer assured the church of their freedom.
According to him, prayers were intensified during the church’s Holy Ghost Service and across RCCG parishes until the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers.
Adebambo further expressed optimism that the development would mark the beginning of the end of banditry and other security challenges facing Nigeria, adding that Pastor Adeboye’s recent prophetic declaration encouraging members to exchange “Happy New Year” greetings signified a new season for the country.
Also speaking, the Provincial Choir Coordinator, A/P Yetunde Ayelabowo, described the maiden edition of Triumphant Night as the beginning of greater testimonies for the province.
She thanked God for the successful launch of the programme and expressed confidence that it would continue to grow, bringing hope, victories and testimonies to many lives.
Ayelabowo also appreciated the Provincial Pastor, zonal pastors, area and parish pastors, guest ministers and members for their spiritual, financial and moral support, as well as those who travelled from far and near to participate in the thanksgiving service.
