Kano Hisbah Bans Mobile Movie Downloading Business Across 44 LGAs |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Kano State Hisbah Board has banned the mobile movie downloading business, popularly known as “downloading,” across all 44 local government areas of the state.

The Acting Commander General of the board, Mujahid Aminuddeen, announced the ban in a voice message sent to journalists, describing the move as part of efforts to protect public morality, promote good values and ensure compliance with Islamic teachings.

According to Aminuddeen, investigations conducted by the board revealed that the business had been used to distribute movies and videos containing materials that contradict Islamic teachings, local culture and accepted moral standards.

He said the board’s findings indicated that the business contributes to the circulation of films and videos considered harmful to religious values, cultural norms and public morality.

“Our findings show that this business contributes to the spread of films and videos that contain content contrary to religion, our culture and good morals. That is why we have decided to stop the business to protect young people from moral decay and reduce the circulation of harmful content,” he said.

The Hisbah chief directed all operators engaged in the business to cease operations immediately, warning that anyone found violating the directive would face legal action.

“We are calling on all operators of this business to comply with this directive. Anyone caught violating the ban will face the full weight of the law,” Aminuddeen added.
