The Lagos State Government has approved and released the 2026/2027 Harmonised Academic Calendar for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, following consultations with education stakeholders coordinated by the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA).
According to the commissioner, the calendar was finalised after two stakeholders’ meetings, during which participants reviewed and agreed on key dates for the 2026/2027 academic session.
He explained that the approved calendar provides details on school resumption dates, mid-term breaks, examination periods and holidays to enable schools, teachers, parents and students to plan effectively throughout the academic year.
Alli-Balogun said the harmonised calendar reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to improving the quality of education through a well-structured and coordinated academic session.
He urged all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state to strictly adhere to the approved schedule.
The state government also advised members of the public to access the full 2026/2027 Harmonised Academic Calendar on the official website of the Office of Education Quality Assurance and on all official Lagos State Government digital platforms.
