Manchester United Agree Deal to Sign Teenage Winger Tynan Thompson |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Manchester United have confirmed an agreement to sign highly rated teenage winger Tynan Thompson, subject to the completion of his official registration.

The 18-year-old is set to join the Premier League club from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth an initial £4 million, with a further £4 million in performance-related add-ons.

As part of the agreement, Tottenham have secured a 15 percent sell-on clause for the England Under-18 international, who joined the club’s academy at the age of 12.

Manchester United are expected to provide Thompson with opportunities to compete for a place in the senior team after informing him that he will have the chance to prove himself at the highest level.

The young winger impressed last season, scoring 13 goals and registering six assists across Tottenham’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams. His standout performances included scoring seven goals in seven UEFA Youth League matches, while he was also named as an unused substitute in two UEFA Champions League fixtures.

The performance-related add-ons in the transfer are understood to be linked to Thompson’s future first-team achievements at Manchester United.

In a statement, Manchester United said: “Everyone at United would like to welcome Tynan to the club and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”

The move will be completed once the player’s registration process is finalized.
