The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, will officially hand over the leadership of the examination body to his successor, Prof. Segun Aina, on Friday, July 31, 2026.
The handover ceremony will mark the end of AQ tenure as Registrar after years of overseeing reforms aimed at strengthening the credibility, transparency and efficiency of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the nation’s tertiary admissions process.
Prof. Segun Aina is expected to formally assume office during the ceremony, taking over the administration of the board.
The leadership transition is expected to usher in a new phase for JAMB, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the reforms and policies introduced under Oloyede’s administration will be sustained to further enhance transparency, accountability and excellence in Nigeria’s tertiary education admissions system.
