The Nigerian Army has arrested a 30-year-old woman, identified as Halima Ibrahim, for allegedly supplying firearms to bandits operating in Plateau State.
Halima was reportedly arrested during an operation conducted by soldiers at a forest hideout allegedly used by kidnappers in Kisayi, Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the woman was attempting to flee when troops apprehended her. She was allegedly found in possession of an AK-47 rifle.
Following her arrest, the soldiers reportedly took her into town and proceeded to her residence, where they conducted a search.
During the search, another AK-47 rifle was allegedly discovered concealed inside her room.
The suspect is expected to remain in military custody as investigations continue into the alleged supply of firearms to bandits and possible links to criminal activities in the area.
