Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has completed a remarkable clean sweep of the major individual Player of the Year awards following his outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
The Portuguese midfielder has now been named Premier League Player of the Season, Manchester United Player of the Season, Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year and PFA Players’ Player of the Year.
Fernandes’ latest honour came on Tuesday after he was voted the 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year, with the award decided by his fellow professional footballers.
The 31-year-old enjoyed a record-breaking campaign, registering 21 Premier League assists the highest-ever tally in a single Premier League season and scoring nine goals. His performances helped Manchester United recover from a difficult start to finish third and secure Champions League qualification.
Fernandes had previously secured the Premier League’s EA SPORTS Player of the Season award and the FWA Footballer of the Year prize. He also received Manchester United’s Player of the Season honour.
His FWA triumph made him the first Manchester United player to win the prestigious journalists’ award since Wayne Rooney in 2009/10.
With the PFA award now added to his collection, Fernandes has emerged as the standout individual performer of the 2025/26 season.
