The City Boy Movement, Lagos State, has pledged its full grassroots support for the All Progressives Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Mushin Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Nureni Akinsanya, ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The movement also congratulated Akinsanya on his emergence as the party’s flag bearer following the recently concluded APC primary election.
The pledge was contained in a congratulatory letter signed by the Lagos State Director of the City Boy Movement, Moyosore Ogunlewe, Esq., and presented to Akinsanya by a delegation led by Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe, Executive Chairman of Mushin and Supervisor of the movement in Mushin and Odi-Olowo.
Other members of the delegation were Hon. Ayodele Oyebanjo, Secretary, City Boy Movement, Mushin and Odi-Olowo; Hon. Mudasiru Muritala, Coordinator, City Boy Movement, Mushin Local Government; and Amb. Adekunle Oluwatosin, Coordinator, City Boy Movement, Odi-Olowo-Ojuwoye LCDA.
The group described Akinsanya’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by APC members and stakeholders, saying it also demonstrated his commitment to progressive leadership, community development and effective representation.
The City Boy Movement said it remained a loyal and grassroots-oriented support organisation committed to the success of the APC and its candidates.
It, however, emphasised that its activities would be conducted in line with the authority, structure, principles and directives of the party at all levels.
According to the movement, it would complement the APC’s efforts through grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement, youth participation, community outreach and public enlightenment.
“We are not a substitute for the party structure, but a support platform working to advance the collective interest and electoral success of the APC,” the group stated.
The organisation assured Akinsanya of its readiness to support his campaign, subject to the directives of APC leaders and in coordination with his campaign structure.
It said its members and coordinators across Lagos State, local government areas, wards and polling units were prepared to participate in lawful and disciplined mobilisation activities in support of the candidate.
The movement expressed confidence that unity, consultation, discipline and loyalty to the APC would help the party consolidate its electoral strength across Lagos State.
It further stated that it would continue to promote the APC’s message, strengthen grassroots engagement and support all duly nominated candidates of the party.
The group also expressed its commitment to supporting APC candidates across the various constituencies and levels of government, including candidates for the State House of Assembly and House of Representatives, Senator, Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
