The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate, Dr Kadiri Hamzat, has welcomed students, teachers and school administrators across the state as they prepare to commence the 2026/2027 academic session.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that the 2026/2027 Harmonised Academic Calendar for all public and private primary and secondary schools in Lagos State begins on Monday, September 14, 2026.
In a message ahead of the resumption, Hamzat urged learners to approach the new academic session with renewed hope, determination and a strong commitment to academic excellence.
He described education as the foundation of a stronger and more prosperous Lagos, stressing that classrooms across the state are nurturing future innovators, professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders.
According to him, the new academic session presents students with fresh opportunities to dream boldly, study diligently and believe in their abilities.
“The future you desire begins with what you learn today,” Hamzat said, while encouraging learners to make the most of the opportunities available to them through the education system.
The APC candidate also commended teachers across the state for their dedication, sacrifice and commitment to shaping the lives of young people.
He described teachers as “indispensable partners” in building the future of Lagos, noting that every lesson taught, child encouraged and talent discovered contributes to the overall development of the state.
Hamzat further called for stronger collaboration among government, parents, educators, communities and the private sector to ensure that every child in Lagos has access to quality, technology-driven and future-ready education.
“Our children are our greatest investment. The Lagos of tomorrow is already sitting in our classrooms today. Let us give them every opportunity to succeed,” he said.
He wished students, teachers, school administrators, parents and other stakeholders in the education sector a peaceful, productive and successful academic year.
