The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a $5,000 (approximately ₦7 million) reward for information leading to the arrest of Emuobosan Emmanuella Hall, a 46-year-old Nigerian citizen and US permanent resident accused of failing to surrender to prison authorities before beginning an eight-year sentence.
Hall was sentenced to 96 months in prison in January 2026 by US District Judge Jane Milazzo for her role in a romance-fraud scheme targeting victims, mostly older women.
She was ordered to report to the Federal Bureau of Prisons by March 25, 2026, but allegedly failed to comply with the directive.
According to investigators, GPS data from Hall’s monitoring device showed that her last known location was Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on March 24, 2026, before the device stopped transmitting.
Hall had reportedly informed her probation officer that she planned to travel to Minnesota, where she was expected to begin serving her sentence. However, airline records indicated that she did not board the scheduled flight.
A federal grand jury indicted Hall on October 23, 2026, on a charge of failing to surrender to federal prison authorities. A warrant has also been issued for her arrest.
Hall had previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud victims through romance scams. Court documents revealed that members of the fraud network allegedly posed online as military generals, philanthropists and entrepreneurs to establish romantic relationships with victims before persuading them to transfer money under false pretences.
Investigators said Hall and her co-defendant, Kenneth Akpieyi, used Le Beau Monde LLC to process funds obtained from victims.
Hall admitted responsibility for losses amounting to $851,207, while Akpieyi was held responsible for more than $3.5 million and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
If convicted of the new charge of failing to surrender, Hall could face an additional sentence of up to 10 years in prison, consecutive to her existing sentence.
The FBI is appealing to members of the public to provide information that could assist investigators in locating and apprehending her.
