BREAKING: Kevin De Bruyne to Leave Manchester City at the End of the Season |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to a remarkable decade at the Etihad Stadium.

The 33-year-old Belgian playmaker joined City in the summer of 2015 from Wolfsburg for a reported fee of £54 million.

Over the years, he has cemented his place as one of the club’s greatest-ever players, playing a key role in multiple Premier League triumphs and domestic cup successes.

Kevin De Bruyne’s Letter to the club and the fans:

“Seeing this, you probably realize where this is heading. So, I’ll get straight to the point and let you all know that these will be my final months as a Manchester City player.”

Nothing about this is easy to write, but as football players, we all know this day will eventually come. That day is here, and you deserve to hear it from me first.

“Football led me to all of you—and to this city. I chased my dream, never knowing this journey would change my life. This city, this club, these people… gave me EVERYTHING.”

*I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what? We won EVERYTHING. Whether we like it or not, it’s time to say goodbye.

“Suri, Rome, Mason, Michèle, and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family.

“Manchester” will forever be on our kids’ passports— and, more importantly, in each of our hearts.

“This will always be our HOME. We cannot thank the city, club, staff, teammates, friends, and family enough for this incredible 10-year ride, he said.

Reacting to De Bruyne’s decision, City manager Pep Guardiola hailed him as one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history.

“In the Premier League, he is one of the greatest midfielders this country has seen and a top player for this club. Great—if not the greatest. I always respect players who can perform at such a high level for many years,” Guardiola said.

De Bruyne’s departure will mark the end of an era for Manchester City, as fans prepare to bid farewell to one of their most influential players.
