A Member, House of Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has dismissed as false a media report claiming that the Presidency directed political leaders in Kogi State to honour an alleged one-term agreement.
Hon. Faleke representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State in a statement on Wednesday, rejected a report published by the online platform TrackNews which suggested that former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello and the current governor, Usman Ododo, had been instructed by the Presidency to abide by such an arrangement, allegedly involving him.
The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance said he had never been involved in any discussion or agreement relating to a one-term deal in Kogi State.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I was neither consulted nor privy to any conversation, arrangement or understanding on a one-term agreement in Kogi State or any related matter,” he said.
Mr Faleke described the report as “entirely false and misleading”, adding that it had no factual basis and should be ignored.
He said the publication had prompted numerous calls and messages seeking clarification, making it necessary for him to publicly refute the claim.
