Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, on Friday, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a statewide broadcast, the governor said he decamped with his entire cabinet and all Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, officials.
He said his action was for the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State.
Earlier, 16 members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly resigned their membership of the PDP, enroute the APC.
