Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has paid tribute to former Oyo State First Lady, Florence Ajimobi, as part of activities marking International Women’s Day, describing her as her “International Woman of the Year.”
Adeosun commended Ajimobi’s resilience and determination, noting that she represents women who continue to persevere despite challenges and setbacks.
Ajimobi was recently appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, a development that has attracted congratulatory messages from supporters and associates.
In a message shared on Sunday, Adeosun praised the former First Lady for her strength of character, stating that she exemplifies women who remain steadfast despite life’s difficulties.
“You represent every woman who simply keeps going who takes the setbacks, the losses and the challenges and still moves forward,” she said.
Adeosun added that Ajimobi has demonstrated that it is possible to maintain grace and dignity while navigating adversity, eventually reaching “the joy, laughter and triumph on the other side.”
International Women’s Day is celebrated globally each year to recognise the achievements of women and promote gender equality.
