A UK court has sentenced a Nigerian national, Chukwuemeka Michael Ahanonu, to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of murdering a woman in a random street attack in Leicester.
The incident, which shocked the local community, occurred when the victim was walking along a street in the city and was suddenly attacked without provocation. Emergency services responded promptly, but the victim succumbed to her injuries.
Following investigations by Leicestershire Police, Ahanonu was arrested and charged with murder.
