The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has addressed growing concerns from parents and guardians regarding candidates whose Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are currently displaying the message “No Result Yet.”
In an official statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the Board clarified that this status applies specifically to underage candidates whose results have not been released.
According to JAMB regulations, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME. Consequently, when underage candidates attempt to check their results, the system automatically returns a “No Result Yet” notification.
However, the Board noted that exceptions exist for exceptionally gifted candidates. Underage candidates may still be considered for admission if they demonstrate outstanding academic ability by scoring 320 or above in the UTME and achieving at least 80 percent in subsequent screening stages.
JAMB further explained that, following an agreement with parents of underage candidates, only those who meet the 320 score threshold will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next phase of evaluation. Candidates who successfully pass this stage may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates category.
For now, JAMB emphasized that results for all underage candidates remain withheld pending the completion of this process.
