The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ejeh Alfred at their residence in Abuja.
ASP Ejeh, who served as a driver with the Nigeria Police Airwing, died on April 17, 2026, while on an operational mission. His death has been described as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force.
During the visit, the police chief extended his sympathies to the widow, Mrs. Mercy Ejeh, her children, and other family members.
He described the deceased officer as a committed and professional personnel whose sacrifice in the line of duty would not be forgotten.
The IGP assured the family of continued institutional support, stressing that the welfare and legacy of officers who lose their lives in service remain a priority for the Force.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of police personnel, noting that the dedication and bravery of officers play a critical role in maintaining national security.
The police chief also offered prayers for the repose of the late officer’s soul and pledged that the Force would continue to stand by the bereaved family.
