NIPSS Assures Public of Safety After Security Incident Near Kuru Campus |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, has assured the public that normal activities have continued at the institute following a security incident that occurred in its vicinity on Tuesday morning.

In a statement issued by the Head of the Public Affairs Department, Dr. Osime Samuel, the institute said the situation was swiftly brought under control through the prompt intervention of security personnel and relevant security agencies.

According to the statement, normalcy has since been restored, with no further threat to the safety of participants, staff, residents, or facilities of the institute.

NIPSS disclosed that security agencies have commenced investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The institute noted that it would be premature to speculate on the nature, scope, or outcome of the event while investigations are ongoing.

The statement also cautioned against relying on unverified information circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms, stressing that the institute could not confirm such reports.

NIPSS urged members of the public and the media to rely solely on official communications from the institute and relevant security agencies for accurate information.

Dr. Samuel said the institute is working closely with appropriate authorities and would provide verified updates as soon as they become available.

The management of NIPSS reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and security of all members of its community and commended the professionalism of the security personnel and agencies involved in responding to the incident.
