Irish authorities have deported 42 South African nationals, including nine men, 18 women, and 15 children, as part of the country’s ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.
The group, which consisted entirely of family units, departed Dublin on a specially chartered flight and arrived in Johannesburg on Thursday, according to Ireland’s Department of Justice.
Officials disclosed that two members of the deported group had previously been convicted of offences in Ireland. However, no further details regarding the convictions were provided.
The operation marked Ireland’s fourth deportation charter flight of the year.
The Department of Justice said that 130 people had already been removed from the country in previous charter operations conducted in 2026, citing criminality as the basis for those deportations.
Irish authorities said the latest removal was carried out in line with the country’s immigration laws and procedures.
