Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Thanks NBA Members After Election Victory, Pledges Inclusive Leadership |LAGOS EYE NEWS




President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, has expressed gratitude to members of the association for electing her to lead the legal body, promising to build a more inclusive and responsive Bar.

In a statement following her victory, Badejo-Okusanya described the mandate as a collective achievement, saying the success belonged to every lawyer who believed in the vision of “A Bolder Bar That Works for Everyone.”

She said her nationwide engagements with lawyers during the campaign helped shape her agenda, noting that the concerns, aspirations and ideas shared by members would guide her leadership.

The president-elect also thanked all lawyers who participated in the election, regardless of the candidates they supported, urging members to unite for the advancement of the legal profession and the defence of justice and the rule of law.

Badejo-Okusanya commended her fellow contestants for strengthening the democratic process and pledged to work with them in moving the association forward.

She also acknowledged the contributions of her campaign team, volunteers, supporters, family, mentors and friends, as well as her husband, for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.

Reaffirming her commitment to the NBA, Badejo-Okusanya pledged to lead with integrity, fairness, humility, courage and accountability, promising to create an association where lawyers can “earn better, live better and practise better.”

She described her election as the beginning of a new responsibility and called on members to work together in building a stronger Nigerian Bar Association.
