Oyo NUJ Mourns FRCN Chapel Financial Secretary, Olalekan Olayiwola |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the Financial Secretary of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Chapel, Mr Olalekan Quadri Olayiwola.

The council described Mr Olayiwola as a creative and versatile journalist who made significant contributions to broadcasting through his professionalism, dedication and commitment to the profession.

In a statement signed by the council’s Chairman, Akeem Abas, and Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the NUJ said Olayiwola demonstrated his talents in several areas of broadcasting during his years with Radio Nigeria.

The council said he worked in reporting, translation and Yoruba news presentation, among other roles, contributing to the development of the station.

It added that his versatility and passion for journalism earned him the respect of colleagues and audiences.

The NUJ said his death was a major loss to the FRCN Chapel, Radio Nigeria and the wider journalism community in Oyo State.

The council commiserated with Olayiwola’s family, members of the FRCN Chapel and the media community, while praying for strength for those affected by his death.

It urged his family and colleagues to find comfort in his professional contributions and the memories he left behind.

The council also prayed for the repose of his soul and comfort for all those mourning his passing.
