Kenya Customs Seize 40 Undeclared iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max Devices Worth $63,200 |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Kenyan customs officials have intercepted 40 undeclared iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max smartphones valued at $63,200 at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.

The devices were reportedly concealed in three suitcases and a backpack belonging to a passenger who arrived in Kenya from Dubai.

According to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), officers became suspicious after reviewing the passenger’s travel history, which revealed multiple trips between Kenya and Dubai within a short period.

During questioning, the passenger allegedly admitted that he was transporting the smartphones on behalf of a client based in Dubai.

The KRA said the devices had not been declared to customs as required by law.

The seized smartphones have since been transferred to a customs warehouse pending further clearance and verification procedures.

The interception forms part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to tackle smuggling and the illegal importation of high-value goods through Kenya’s entry points.
