Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has been appointed Chairman of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee for the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oyebanji was inaugurated alongside other members of the 42-member committee during a ceremony held at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Aspirants’ Screening Committee is mandated to screen and verify aspirants vying for elective positions at the 2026 National Convention, in line with the party’s constitution, guidelines and relevant regulations.
Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, was named Co-Chairman of the committee, while former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, will serve as Vice Chairman. Former Bauchi State Governor, Isah Yuguda, was appointed Secretary, with former Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, serving as Assistant Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Orji Uzor Kalu, Gbenga Daniel, Ben Ayade, Osita Izunaso, Sarafa Alli, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu, Dr. Isa Muhammed, and Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife, among others.
At the colourful event presided over by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, several other committees were also inaugurated. They include the Screening Appeal Committee, Election Committee, Venue Committee, Security Committee, Election Appeal Committee, Finance Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, Ceremonial, Programme and Event Committee, Delegates Accreditation Committee, Protocol Committee, Accommodation and Transportation Committee, as well as the Entertainment and Welfare Committee.
