The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos has dismissed allegations published by Sahara Reporters claiming that party delegates from the state were stranded due to unpaid mobilisation funds.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo described the report as false and misleading, insisting that all accredited delegates were properly transported to Abuja in an organized and comfortable manner.
The party further stated that adequate accommodation was provided for the delegates upon arrival, contrary to the claims made in the publication.
The party also clarified that the Lagos State Government does not finance party activities, emphasizing that the APC independently handles its logistics and funding through internal structures. It described attempts to link the state government to party operations as deliberate efforts to misinform the public.
Additionally, the APC accused Sahara Reporters of a pattern of misinformation, alleging that the platform frequently publishes unverified and sensational claims.
The statement also questioned the credibility of the publisher, citing concerns over alleged political affiliations and multiple roles within an opposition party.
The Lagos APC urged the public to critically evaluate news sources and rely on verified information, while reaffirming its commitment to party unity and support for governance in Lagos State and Nigeria.
